THE CHARITY
Help for Heroes was the Charity Doug chose to support.

“We may not be able to prevent our solders from being wounded – but together we can help them get better” Founded in 2007 by Bryn and Emma Parry to help wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Every £1 donated or raised on behalf of Help for Heroes goes directly to helping servicemen and women. Running costs are small and these are met by the sale of merchandising such as t-shirts, mugs, calendars etc. In fact last year their merchandising sales exceeded their expenses – so even more went to help the troops.

Monies raised are given in grants to organisations such as Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Forces Ass., The Princes Trust, ORF Quick Reaction Fund and The Royal Centre for Defence Medicine. Patrons include Jeremy and Francine Clarkson, Ross Kemp, Sir Ian Botham and James Blunt, together with many distinguished Forces Commanders.
